You Missed My Point (My Response to Arby’s Response)
In response their response, I wrote the following. I won’t explain myself here because I hope the letter speaks for itself:
Dear Mrs. Lefler,
While I appreciate the effort on your response, I do not think it addresses the problems I have outlined. I believe that particular Arby’s has systemic bad customer service and has made no attempts to make reparations in in the past. The assurances you have given me that steps will be taken do not in any way convince me that these steps will be effective or even implemented.
I don’t mean to say that you won’t make an attempt at changing this. You obviously seem to be committed to resolving issues. That shows by the number of attempts you made to contact me. (Of which I apologize for my busy schedule.)
However, if you step into my position and consider the past record I have experienced -4 years of consistently bad service- then I’m sure you’ll understand why I’m not convinced of any lasting change.
I don’t personally intend to use the certificates of free food that you have given me. What would be the point? I would just end up getting a random order and surly service. Except this time, it would be on your dime.
I also do not intend to meet the manager, Vickie. The service I receive there should not be based on who I am and whether or not I’ve complained. The service I receive should be same as anybody else’s who has entered the restaurant looking for something to eat. Getting to know the manager might make my service better for me, but it will not improve the overall quality of the restaurant. That is my intention, to improve the quality of the restaurant so that myself, my friend, my family and anybody else in the community can finally get something to eat without feeling cheated, abused or taken advantage of.
I intend to give the the VIP cards to friends so that I can remain anonymous to the manager.
What specifically do you intend to do to change the behaviors of this restaurant? How do you intend to measure any subsequent changes made by this restaurant?
How, in short, can you assure me that what you are doing has any positive effect on this particular restaurant?
I intend to post all written communications on my blog. As well, I will be posting the result of any bad service that I receive during any attempt to eat at that particular restaurant. If I find that nothing has changed satisfactorily at this Arby’s then I intend to escalate my blog’s presence in anyway I can. I work as web developer and have lots of ties into the industry. Finding a way to increase exposure would not be difficult for me.
If the problems seem to be genuinely solved then I will post that as well with my sincerest good wishes.
Sincerely,
